[Video] Why Choosing the Right Counselors Matters: A Lesson from Proverbs 11:14

I recently came across a hilarious video posted by a user on X.com. Although I don’t understand Chinese (at least I think it’s Chinese), the moral of the story was crystal clear.

The verse from Proverbs says, “Where there is no guidance, a people fall, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety” (Proverbs 11:14). However, this makes us consider an important question: What is the quality of the counselors who surround you? Are they like the ones in the video?

It’s crucial to surround ourselves with people whose insight adds value to our lives, not diminishes it. Even well-meaning advice can lead us astray if it’s not grounded in wisdom. As the proverb reminds us, without counsel, plans do fail. But it’s equally important to choose your advisors carefully.

Lord Jesus, grant us the wisdom to lead our lives in a way that adds value to others as well as ourselves. Amen!
