Is There Anything Called ‘More Faith’? Discover the Truth!

In Luke 17, Jesus acknowledges that humanity will always face temptations and struggles with sin. However, he goes beyond that by emphasizing the grave consequences for those who lead others into temptation. In response to this teaching, his disciples approach him and make a request, saying, “Lord, show us how to increase our faith.”

As we ponder the concept of faith, it is essential to ask ourselves, “What truly is faith?” The definition that has resonated with me can be found in Hebrews 11. This passage describes faith as the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. It is important to note that this isn’t a mere passive hope, but an active one—a hope deeply rooted in God the Father, made possible through Jesus, and brought to fruition by the Holy Spirit.

In response to the disciples’ inquiry about increasing their faith, Jesus provides them with a profound insight. He explains that even if their faith was as minuscule as a mustard seed, it would be sufficient to move mountains. Jesus conveys the idea that the size or quantity of faith is not the crucial factor; rather, even the tiniest measure of genuine faith possesses extraordinary potential.

The extraordinary nature of the mustard seed can be understood with its unique characteristics and symbolism in what Jesus mentioned.
