While this is theoretically accurate, it doesn’t hold true in practice. When Jesus died on the cross, his final words after expressing his thirst were, “It is finished.” What was finished? Presumably, the task assigned to him. And what task was that? The task of providing life in abundance through Jesus (John 10:10) and bearing the penalty for sin and death (1 Peter 2:24). No other religion claims this fact. In many faiths, individuals must engage in acts of devotion or bhakti to achieve salvation. In contrast, in Jesus, the work is already completed on our behalf.
