One commenter wrote, “Please don’t associate the Lord Jesus Christ with any religion. He is not a religion….” While I don’t completely agree with this viewpoint, there are some valid points in the statement. To stay on topic, I would like to explain why Jesus Christ’s intention was not to start a religion or an exclusive club. His claims were far more profound than those of any other holy man or woman who walked the earth. Jesus claimed to be God. As stated in John 14:6, Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
